Summer Reading is for EVERYONE!
Registration for our Summer Reading Club is just around the corner. All patrons with a library card are welcome to register for the reading club and all events during the week of June 10th. A breakdown of the clubs:
Read to Me Club--Read and record ten books each week. Return the tally for a prize.
Independent Readers--Read and record 100 pages each week. Return the tally for a prize.
Adult Readers--Read and record one book each week. Return to be entered in a weekly drawing.
Of course you are encouraged to read and record MORE than the club's weekly minimum. We keep a running total of total books and pages read per age group--check out the bulletin board for these totals every week! Let's try to make this our most read summer ever!

Staff Pick: The Fault in Our Stars
Last Friday night I left work looking forward to a long Memorial Day weekend. I had just checked out The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and was excited to finally have time to read it. After dinner, I got myself cozy with my book, and the next thing I knew it was 2 AM and I had just finished all 313 pages.
Meet Hazel. Hazel has cancer. Her parents make her go to a Cancer Kid Support Group where she meets a boy named Augustus Waters. Augustus is in remission; he had bone cancer. This is the story of Hazel and Augustus, their adventures, books, cancer, sickness, parents, and a trip of a life time. John Green never disappoints. He fills his novels with heartwrenching truths that bring you to tears and humor that makes you laugh outloud.

Task Force
The Saucon Valley Library Task Force meets June 14 at 6:00 PM at the LST buidling. Please note this is a new time. While not a public forum, the task force hopes the change in time will encourage residents to attend the meeting. The task force committees are preparing reports to present to Lower Saucon Township council. The reports will include statistics, building assesments, technology needs and financial ramifications of a combined Hellertown - Lower Saucon library. As taxpayer's your input is vital to this process. Please share your thoughts with Council members of both Hellertown and Lower Saucon. Great library service is worth your time investment.
