Important Library Meeting!
If you are a Lower Saucon resident who comes to the Library and enjoys the service and staff, the Lower Saucon Township Council would appreciate hearing from you at a public meeting on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 7 PM at the Town Hall at 3700 Philadelphia Pike. If you feel the Township should financially support the Hellertown Area Library for the services that residents like you enjoy, please attend this important meeting.

Happy 20th Birthday, Hellertown Area Library!
2013 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Library and we have big plans to celebrate!
- NEW HOURS!! The Library is increasing operating hours by 4 hours. Beginning Monday, February 11 the Library will open at 10 AM on Monday and Wednesday. We hope you enjoy the added convenience of this new opening time!
- The last Monday of every month is "Cupcake Monday" at the library! Come in and enjoy a variety of tasty treats on us!
- Save the Date! Our 20th Birthday Bash is April 19,2013 at the Meadows in Hellertown! Celebrate with all of your friends; featuring hors d'oeuvres, dancing, silent auction, cash bar AND a birthday cake! Party hats optional. Tickets - $40.
- The 2nd volume of the Get Bookin' 5K race is tentatively scheduled to coincide with Hellertown - Lower Saucon Community Day on August 17. Start training now!
- Take a chance on owning a gorgeous hand made quilt donated to the Library by Barbara Kelly and Lois Walters. The quilt is on display and the Library and the winner will be chosen at Hellertown - Lower Saucon Community Days. Tickets are only $1.00 or six for $5.00.
- Tell us why you like us! Stop by the Library, pick up a form and tell us why you like the Hellertown Area Library. Forms are just inside the front door and responses will be displayed throughout the year in the Library, reported in the newsletter and blogged on PATCH!
Other celebratory events planned include a summer party just for kids (think Moon Bounce), a wine and cheese volunteer recognition party, Spring Family Book Bingo, and the ever popular summer book sale at Saucon Valley High School. All events will be published on the Library web site and in the monthly newsletter.

Kid Stuff
Stop by after school for a Valentine's Day story and craft time on Thursday, February 14 at 4:00 PM. Hear a mushy story, make a crafty heart, sing some songs and have a blast! All ages welcome; please register.
Put on your hat and party with Cat in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday on Saturday, March 2 at 9:15 AM! Why the early start? GREEN EGGS and HAM! Yummy! Join us for Seuss stories, crafts, games and activities and share some eggs and ham! All ages welcome; please register soon, space is limited.
Every Friday at 9:30 babies and toddlers sing and dance at the Library! Join Lena from Kindermusik as she joyfully guides you and your child through movement and song. Best Breakfast in Saucon Valley!
That is the Saucon Valley Lions Club breakfast, of course.The Club breakfast on Sunday, March 3 benefits the Hellertown Area Library! Stop by Se-Wy-Co Fire Co. Social Hall (RT. 378, near Black River Road) from 8 AM to 12:30 PM and show the Lions you support them and the library! The special of the day is the popular cheesesteak omelette. Did we mention staff and trustees from the library will serving you? Fun for the whole family!

Trustees elect new officers
The Hellertown Area Library Board of Trustees elected the following: President - Daisy Handwerk, Vice President - Michael Evangelista, Secretary - Hannah Tatu, Treasurer - Jeanne Reilly. The Board also welcomes new Trustee, Hannah Tatu. One trustee still needed.
