| September is Library Card Sign Up Month! Anyone can get a card and utilize all the library has to offer. One must simply be at least 5 years of age and be a resident of Hellertown Borough or show their library card from their home library. |

Dear ,
Thank you for sharing your summer at the Hellertown Area Library! This years theme, Dream Big - Read was all about things nocturnal - dreams, bats, owls, stars and planets, spooky things and more. We were happy to provide programs that were free and open to everyone. Congratulations to all the readers who read 4,063 books and 94,440 pages! We are all winners when we read!!

Get Bookin' 5K Run/Walk
Join us for our first annual Get Bookin' 5K Run/Walk! Race is September 29 at 9 AM. Registration begins at 8 AM. Registration fee is $25.00. You can print out a registration here and mail it, along with your check, to the library.
The route begins and ends at the library! Please click here for a map of the race. Straight on Constitution Ave., Right on Durham St., Right on Reservoir Rd., Right on Polk Valley Rd., Right on Service Road., Left on East Walnut St., Right on Rentzheimer Dr., Right on Durham, Right on Constitution, and straight back the library!
We are also looking for business sponsors. Sponsoring the 5K will get your name/logo on the back of the T-Shirts, and on Facebook and the library website. If you would like to sponsor the race, you can download the form here.

Vote for Books!
Kids and Teens! Who says the election is only for grown ups? Stop by the library to pick up a ballot to nominate your four top favorite books of all time. Library staff will tally your choices to find the top in each age group. Before the November election, you will be able to vote for the book that YOU would like to see win.

Current and Future Fundraisers
Yankee Candle--With the holiday season rapidly approaching, it is never too early to begin shopping. And who doesn't love a Yankee Candle? Come to the library and grab a brochure today! Orders are due by October 13th. You must pay when ordering.
Rada Cutlery--Don't like candles? You're in luck! We will be selling Rada Cutlery as well this season. The sale will take place October 13 to November 13. They make awesome gifts!
Nutroll Sale--Nutrolls are $15.00 each. Orders must be placed by November 21. Delivery is December 6. Flavors are English Walnut, Apricot, Poppy Seed, Lekvar, or Raspberry. Must pay when ordering.
Basket Raffle--We are working on getting our Winter Basket Raffle organized already! We are looking for donations from our library Friends and patrons. To avoid duplication we are asking for either monetary donations, or an item from our wanted list. If you would like to donate an item, please see a staff member. The raffle will begin on October 29th. Tickets will be $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. The winners will be drawn on December 7th.

Banned Books Club
Are you a risky reader? If you are, join us in celebrating the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Club. We will be reading a new banned or challenged book each month. Adults and teens alike are welcome to join. The only requirement is you must maintain an open mind. Some books may contain sensitive subjects such as racism, sex, violence, and drugs.
We will meet the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM. Our first book group will take place during Banned Books Week, on October 3rd. Please let us know if you are planning to attend.

Fall Storytime
Fall storytime will begin on October 4 and end on November 1 for 3's and 4's! Storytime runs for 5 weeks and there is a fee of $5.00. Register now. Space is limited!
